An Insight Into Loving Awareness

Last month, I published a set of posts that outline my Loving Awareness training. Loving Awareness is at the heart of the meditative path to emotional wellbeing.

Emotional Wellbeing and Past Baggage

Most of us need to work through our past emotional baggage to experience emotional wellbeing. In the process, we also learn to respond and react differently, and we need to be able to process the consequences of new adversities that arise in our lives. By doing this, we're working to release past suffering. We stop adding to our personal baggage, and we build our resilience for future adversities.

Personal Journey Through Loving Awareness

Everyone's path is different, but I have outlined these in the order I went through them, which I think most people will also take. Yesterday, I published a short post on how, through meditation, we move from mindfulness to acceptance. What that means is that to process our emotions, we need to connect to our feelings and to connect to our feelings, we need to be in the present moment.

Meditation and Emotional Regulation

To make this connection we need, we need meditation practices that help us experience uncomfortable emotions without being overwhelmed—everything from anxiety to grief and anger. These practices are at the heart of my emotional regulation training in the five-week course. I also teach these practices in my five-week classes, courses and retreats. From time to time, I run, loving awareness day retreats and workshops. I'm thinking of running some more Loving Awareness workshops over the autumn. Contact me if you're interested.
